The Agency currently contracts with a single organization, Florida Medical Schools Quality Network (FMSQN), which represents eight medical schools and graduate medical education programs in the state, for the purpose of establishing an active and ongoing program to improve health care services and clinical outcomes in all Medicaid managed care plans. The Vendor also conducts health care initiatives and projects implemented by the Florida Legislature, and they provide actionable recommendations to improve quality of care.
Current Project
The Vendor shall conduct a study and produce a report on Medicaid recipients with sickle cell disease as described in Section 409.91235, Florida Statutes. The project shall include a review to determine whether the available covered medications, treatments, and services for sickle cell disease are adequate to meet the needs of Medicaid recipients diagnosed with such disease and whether the Agency should seek to add additional medications, treatments, or services to improve outcomes. The Agency shall submit a report to the Governor, the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Florida Department of Health’s Office of Minority Health, and Rare Disease Advisory Council every two years beginning November 1, 2024. The report shall be posted on the Agency’s website.
