The Agency currently contracts with the University of Florida to perform research and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of children’s health insurance services, the demographics and characteristics of children and families who utilize those services, and an overall assessment of the operation of the Florida KidCare Program. The Vendor collects information regarding parents’ assessments of their children’s experiences with Florida KidCare and a quality-of-care assessment using the core set of Children’s Health Care Quality Measures for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), also referred to as the Child Core Set. The evaluation also includes an analysis of policy changes and enrollment trends, including application volume, retention, disenrollment, racial and ethnic disparities, and enrollee and family characteristics. The Vendor prepares and submits to the Agency an annual KidCare Program evaluation report. This report, once approved, is provided by the Agency to the Governor, the House, and the Senate pursuant to section 409.8177, Florida Statutes (F.S.).
