Nursing Home Gold Seal Award
The Gold Seal Program awards and recognizes nursing home facilities that demonstrate excellence in long-term care over a sustained period, promotes the stability of the industry and facilitates the physical, social, and emotional well-being of nursing home facility residents.

Gold Seal Facility Listing
- The Governor's Panel on Excellence in Long-Term Care recognizes these nursing homes as meeting high standards and quality of care. This link directs you to the Facility/Provider Locator on FloridaHealthFinder.gov . To view the most up-to-date listing of Gold Seal Facilities, on the Facility/Provider Type drop down menu select Nursing Home . Next, under Advanced Search click the green down arrow then select Yes for Gold Seal Award Recipient. This list is also available on the Current Gold Seal Nursing Homes Dashboard.
Gold Seal Application and Information
*Gold Seal applications are reviewed in two periods*
Period 1 requires applications be submitted by March 15th each year. The quality of care score for this review period will be obtained from the preceding quarter ending December 31. The quality of care score will be available by February 15. Application reviews will be completed by April 15th. Site visits will be conducted after April 15th and a meeting of the Panel will be held to determine those licensees to be recommended for Gold Seal. This meeting must be held prior to June 15th.
Period 2 requires applications be submitted by September 15th each year. The quality of care score for this review period will be obtained from the preceding quarter ending June 30th. The quality of care score will be available by August 15th. Site visits will be conducted after October 15th and a meeting of the Panel will be held to determine those licensees to be recommended for the Gold Seal. This meeting must be held prior to December 15th.

Gold Seal Panel Meeting Information
Panel meetings are held at the AHCA offices in Tallahassee or various locations in the state and are always open to the public. Notices of meetings are published in the Florida Administrative Register and follow standards of the Florida Sunshine Laws.
