Home Health Agencies

Home Health Agencies

An agency that provides skilled services (by nurses, therapists, social workers) and/or unskilled services (by home health aides, certified nursing assistants, homemaker, companions) to patients in their homes. A home health agency may also provide staffing to health care facilities on a temporary basis.

Excellence in Home Health

To be considered for an Excellence in Home Health Award, a home health agency licensee eligible under section 400.52(3), F.S. and 59A-8.0248, F.A.C., must apply using the Excellence in Home Health Award Application, AHCA Form 3110-9002, January 2023 [ word 82.1 kB ] .  

Initial applicants for the Excellence in Home Health award may apply during the following review periods: 

Review Period 1:
• Initial Applications must be submitted to AHCA by March 15. 
• Application reviews will be concluded by May 15.
• Award decisions will be issued no later than June 15.

Review Period 2:
• Initial applications must submitted to AHCA by September 15.
• Application reviews will be concluded by November 15.
• Award decisions will be issued no later than December 15.
